Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions before diving with us.
Do I need experience or a certification to dive?
Not for a try-dive: it's designed for people who have never dived, and a dedicated instructor stays with you at shallow depth. Guided excursions, on the other hand, require a valid diving certification from any agency.
How deep do you dive in Lake Garda?
Recreational dives go down to 18 metres; with advanced certifications you can reach 45 metres. The site and depth are always chosen according to each diver's certification.
What do I need to prepare before the dive?
A digital check-in with the liability waiver and the RSTC medical questionnaire. If the questionnaire requires it, you'll also need a medical certificate for diving.
Is the water cold? Do I need my own gear?
Garda stays cool at depth even in summer: we provide the wetsuit and full equipment for rental, so all you have to think about is diving.
When is the best time to dive?
You can dive all year round. In the cooler seasons visibility is often excellent, while in summer the surface water is warmer: we'll suggest the best time based on what you want to see.
Do you organise dives for people with disabilities?
Yes. We are an HSA centre (Diving For All) specialised in inclusive diving: underwater, no one is left behind.
Where do the dives set off from?
From our diving centre at Camping Butterfly in Peschiera del Garda for the water outings; the school, with theory and pool, is in Verona (Dossobuono).
